The Entrepreneurship Sector of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (SCC) will establish, in the first quarter of 2021, a section for young entrepreneurs with the aim of helping beginners in business and startups to overcome business challenges.
The section will also be established in order to better understand the position of young people and create quality conditions for their employment.
"Our goal is to raise awareness of the importance of the development of youth entrepreneurship in Serbia, to encourage young people as much as possible to enter entrepreneurial waters after starting formal education and start their own business," said Branislava Simanić, director of the PKS Entrepreneurship Sector.
According to her, in that way, it can contribute to increasing employment and economic empowerment of young people and their motivation to stay in their country.
"A special focus will be on digitalization processes, without which modern business is inconceivable, and the work of the Section will be focused on supporting young people to digitalize business processes so that their businesses are competitive and sustainable," Simanic explained.
The idea is for the Section to gather young people up to 35 years of age, as well as startups, and the activities will be focused on the promotion of entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial spirit, education, improvement of knowledge and skills, it is stated in the announcement of PKS.
For the purpose of gathering and regional networking of as many youth associations as possible, PKS will soon sign memoranda of cooperation with the "Mozaik" foundation and one of the largest regional organizations of young entrepreneurs "Lonac", which have more than 40,000 members.
The statement of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry states that according to the research of the Umbrella Organization of Youth of Serbia (KOMS) "Youth and Entrepreneurship", the percentage of unemployed youth is about 20 percent of the total unemployed population.
